michael s.
Mitch and Bob - I don't often try this, and you're about to see why. This one below is from a couple yrs ago, when I knew even less about post-processing than I do now. Question -- applies more to Mitch's photo in this case -- how are you getting the sky that way ? Many thanks -

Nowhereman
>>>Question -- applies more to Mitch's photo in this case -- how are you getting the sky that way ? Many thanks <<< By selective burning of the sky. These days I'm using LightZone, but you can do the same thing in PhotoShop: I select the sky with a good amount of feathering and then darken it by changing the Blend Mode to Multiply, while increasing the constrast. But the sky was quite strong already in the RAW (colour) file. --Mitch/Paris

Nowhereman
>>>mitch, have you printed this image using this technique. if so, how does it look?<<< Yes, Matt: the print looks good - why do you ask? The darkest part of the sky is one "zone" short of pure black, which you can see if you download the JPG from here and view it on a black background. --Mitch/Paris
Nowhereman
Here are a few more. Do you think that the last one, in which the sun blows out a prt of the sky, works?

--Mitch/Paris
