ralf_j.
One of my 6.5x9 folding plate cameras came with some weird fatter film holders other than the normal ones. I am not sure how to use them. They have an open slit on top besides the felted slit where the dark slide goes to. Also the back is held by spring type pins and a hinge in the bottom. Does anyone know what these type of holders are used for and how?Yes, I tried google, however I am not sure I am using the right terminology to search.Your help is much appreciated as always. michael_gilday
Sounds like it's a 2x3in / 6x9cm filmpack holder, to me. Alas, they are now completely useless, except as shells for homemade ground-glass adapters, as the packs themselves haven't been made in decades. colin carron
Yes, as said above, you have a film pack holder. This allowed the folding plate cameras of the time to use film in the form of a filmpack instead of the usual glass plates in single metal slides. Sadly now totally useless unless and film packs disappeared with the folding plate camera.
