First shots from my new M3

40mm f/1.4 Nokton S.C lens, BW400CN (so I could knock out a few rolls and get

'em back in an hour!) I'm still getting the hang of working without a net

(metering) so exposure is a little off. But I'm already loving this, thanks to

everyone that provided advise.

And no first roll would be complete without train tracks. They're like the

"Hello World!" of photography. So here ya go.

what are you scanning? The print of the neg? And with what?

Just scanning the prints done by the fine folks at my corner Walgreens with my document quality CanoScan N1220U. My Adorama order should be here in a couple days, and then I'll get off this C-41, start loading the Tri-X and developing my own.

 

I need to find a good film scanner though. In the meantime, I may enroll in a B&W class or something. That will at least get me into a darkroom.

I like the shots - despite the obvious problems with the 'signal path', anyway, onwards and upwards, enjoy.

A Leicameter MR is perfectly suited to use with the M3, leaving the camera well-balanced. I think that I like it best of all my meters.

What's wrong with the signal path? It's common knowledge that Henri Cartier-Bresson made all his prints with broken xerox machine low on toner. Unless the guy at Kinko's lied to me.

 

I think I've had too much caffeine today.

The best thing about fillum is sweet 16. Get some TriX or Neopan 400 and

forget metering in the middle of the day.

btw, those scans are surely worse than your film. Get a real scanner or find one if you can (don't exist at most labs.

Another way of looking at this is that the camera body is just a place to hang a lens and this post is really about looking at what your Nokton can do when you point it at something. Looks to be a nice lens.
