"Pocket Wizard II" - Hensel - "Canon 580 EX II"

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I am a wedding photographer, and I have a wedding the coming

Saturday, I would like to know if : My two Hensel's, the 500 pro plus, that have

built in radio slave (slave capability), (and my 500EX II that I maybe will put

on a tripod set as slave,) will cooperate with the Pocket Wizard II ?I will buy

one these days, and I attend to mount it on my Canon 400D ? Should I go ahead

with purchasing the Pocket Wizard ?

Or what about Hensel's transmitter, Ofcourse it will trigger the Hensel's. But

can it trigger my Canon 580 EXII if I set it to slave?

I don't know why, but "Pocket Wizard II" have better resumes by various users.

"If you are using the Hensel slave trigger at a wedding, everyone who fires

their little point & shoot camera will fire your strobes.

Check if your Hensels are radio ready units ... if so, they use propritary

technology that I do not think is compatible with Pocket Wizards. Not a problem,

the Hensel radio transmitter is better than the Pocket Wizards in terms of

individual strobe control at the camera.

You can individually adjust each Hensel head to whatever level you want using

the Hensel shoe mount radio sender. It's much smaller than a Pocket Wizard also.

Go to the Hensel web site for complete info.

If your strobes are not radio ready, you will need a Pocket Wizard for each

strobe, plus one in the camera's hot shoe. The Canon flash is not compatible

with the Pocket Wizards unless you connect a Pocket Wizard to that also."

ps what is radio ready

And what if I wish to use two 580EX II. as slaves. will the pocket wizard

cooperate with them, without making me attach Pocket wizards on them to ?

Doubtful, if you are talking about using the HEnsels built in receivers with a Pocketwizard transmitter. Of course you could bypass the built-in Hensel receivers and use external Pocketwizard Plus II transceivers as receivers.

Only if you got an external Hensel receiver and there's a way to connect it to the 580 EX II.
