michael_briggs2
Your second question: the biggest practical difference between the Repro-Claron and the G-Claron is that the G-Claron has a lot more coverage. The Repro-Claron has a design of four air-spaced elements, the same as the better known Apo-Ronar and Apo-Artar. There are two versions of the G-Claron. The latter and more common one is a plasmat, with six elements in six groups -- coverage is wide. Also, the Repro-Claron uses thorium glass and so is slightly radioactive. There are many discussions in the archives on these lenses, esp. on G-Clarons. You can also find information on these lenses on Schneider's websites, either the English or German language sites. thirteenthumbs
Goerz Lens info at A Large Format Photography. The serial numbers listed suggest yours is a late 50's or early 60's.
Look at the glass, if it is purple or blue tint then it is coated, if it is clear it is not coated.
There are a few Goerz catalogs posted at The Camera Eccentric . The only coverage info I can find is for the Gold Dagor and for 150mm f6.8 it is 210mm.
jason_greenberg_motamedi
Stopped down to f45 the coverage of a Dagor is roughly 87 degrees, or 285mm for your 6" lens. Attached is a Dagor coverage chart, I am not sure where it came from, so apologies to who ever scanned it.
profhlynnjones
It is a 6 element made of 2 symmetricl cemented triplets. It covers 65 degrees and normally has very good quality. On 4x5 it will give you some swings and tilts. Lynn
