Zack~Yes, after i posted the question.I would like to learn and comments are always welcome so i can improve my pictures. It just seems that if you don't photoshop it to a WOW picture or the pic isn't from a pro, suggestions and comments are rare:-(.Gisela

Thanks everybody for the response.

Walter~Brian~Inger, i'm soooo new to pro photography that i'm not comfortable with rating somebodies photo, yet!I don't know what to look for.I do leave comments on members photos and i'm not complaining at all.If i don't get any response on photos i'm posting i don't know if i'm on the right track.Lots of people on her, there work is just AMAZING and like i said i'm soooo far away from that :( ~Gisela

Hello Gisela, I understand what you are talking about. I think you should do what you feel comfortable with, keep on commenting on other peoples photos and you will feel comfortable with giving ratings in no time:) And - if you don`t get any response to some of your photos you can delete them, upload them again and request a new critique, perhaps at another time of the day like Ian suggested. Best regards, Inger:)

i'm soooo new to pro photography that i'm not comfortable with rating somebodies photo, yet!

Gisella, I had to smile with some things you said ..first, not all of us here at photo.net are

anywhere near being called 'pros', perhaps I should speak of myself primarily, but I am quite happy to do a bit of

safe generalisation here.
Secondly, I smiled again at that 'yet' of yours..and to that I say, if you think you

are

capable of rating/evaluating your own photos (you do, do that don't you?), then you are quite capable of doing the

same to other peoples work, so go for it, and thus gain more feedback on your own work either in comments or

ratings.
I note that you have rated just 2, but to be fair you have also commented on 60 odd picures to your 60

own

critique requests. I think most of us have realised that if one wants more feedback one has to put in much more

than one expected to get the return. I'd say to you feel more confident to rate with comments, but if you must

then

rate anonymously using the 'Rate Photos' function. This is not something that I would broadly advocate but if it

helps you get started, it is all for the better.

PS..there are lots of times when I get no ratings/comments on images that I really thought would get lots of reaction.....but then again I must learn to take it on the chin...like a

'pro' ;-)
