Question on Fuji S5 price

There is an old saying, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is". With

that in mind, the Fuji S5 body price varies tremendously, from a low I have

seen at $749.00 up to $1850.00 in a camera store I visited recently. With that

in mind, does anyone know what you DON'T get at the low advertised price that

you would get with the camera store version?

The lower prices are probably internet prices. Be VERY careful of some of these shops,

there are many horror stories. Primarily a bait and switch or the price is only for the body

and you must buy all the "accessories" such as the battery or they'll cancel your order.

Before buying, check each vendor's rating on:

A good reference point is B&H (www.bhphotovideo.com) any price substantially different

from theirs is probably suspect.

More like for sure you don't get the camera until you pony up to $2K plus then it become, depends :-)

BTW: With new Nikon's and Canon's new lower noise and 14 bits bodies, it got to put price pressure on the S5. I would wait a little for these pressure to work its way out.

The price has dropped a teeny bit to 1800 but that is the REAL price and anyone offering it

for more than a hair less is a scammer. At that price the dealers are only getting a very small

markup.

Wait a while. Once the D300 comes out the S5 will drop big-time.

PS: I own an S5 and it is worth waiting for.
