Rollei 35mm Sonnar

Recommended Posts

I have had a Rollei 35 for many years and I always thought the

meter was so hit and miss that so long as you know how much

over or under a 1.5v batt will indicate just allow a stop or speed

up or down. Theoretically I would assume that a more powerful

batt will result in over exp Jerry

The C.R.I.S. MR-9 adapter works very well in all of the cameras I have tried it with. There is no reason why it should work properly in some cameras and not in others. Any camera made to work with mercury cells is quite old now so if the MR-9 adapter doesnlt seem to be working in one, it's probably the camera. I use the MR-9 adapters mostly in Canon F-1 and Minolta SRT cameras.

The "rightness" of the C.R.I.S. adapter is a function of the current draw of the meter, different cameras have different designs. The voltage drop in the adapter is a function of current.

Replacing mercuric oxide cells is tricky because the classic circuits were current mode (battery, CdS cell, and galvanometer in series), and thus were very sensitive to the internal resistance of the cell.

For print films, things aren't that fussy. Kodachrome, that's another issue.

I just don't put a battery in or use the built in meter on my Rollei 35 SE , am just lucky exposure wise in most of the shots i get out of this wonderful little camera.

too bad, my scanner don't work anymore , and i just didn't buy a new one , coz i mostly have to shoot Digital now. PC
