leonard_forte1
I want a good circular polarizing filter (77mm) for my Tokina 12-24 mm lens. There are so many on the market and a wide price range. I want some suggestions for a good quality polarizer which will take a cap. Do I need to spend $100 or more? Thanks
frank_skomial
Circular polarizers work better with normal and tele lenses. If you must use one on Tokina, use it at 24 mm. Stay away from made in Korea by Prinz. Good 77mm polarizer filer costs about $200.
diane_madura
Hi Leonard. I use Nikon CPs on my lenses. I used another brand on my first Nikon lens. I was so disappointed by the results I didn't use a CP again for a long time. Then I tried Nikon, with really nice results. That's all I'll use now. 77mm Nikon CP is $140 at Adorama. Mine are the thin Nikon CPs, no problem adding a lens cap.
hermanjr
you can try the Hoya and tiffen CPs. Both are good and have different alternatives like this hoya brand http://www.adorama.com/Search-Results.tpl?page=searchresults&searchinfo=hoya%2077mm%20cp%20filter tiffen brand http://www.adorama.com/Search-Results.tpl?page=searchresults&searchinfo=tiffen%2077mm%20cp%20filter
z_newbie
Na ... Stay away from Hoya CPL, Try Kenko, I have one 77mm for my Sigma 10-20mm EX lens and I am pretty happy with it.
liljuddakalilknyttphotogra
Answer is simple. Nikon CP I or II (I prefer I personally) or SinghRay CP. I've had problems with B&H Polarizer before. Stay away from any cheap brands & expect to pay about $ 150.00 + JMHO Lil
seandepuydt
B+W are very good and would be my choice.
Richard Williams
The top of the range Hoya filters ('Pro-1') are excellent and can be had for well under $100 USD from reputable Hong Kong dealers on ebay (look for a high volume dealer with excellent feedback and a 'buy it now' deal and you should have no problems). Avoid the cheapest uncoated Hoya range (sold in green boxes), off-brand filters and anything that doesn't tell you if it's coated (it won't be). leonard_forte1
Thanks. I just bought a Hoya Pro 1 digital filter from ebay. I paid $65. This filter goes for $194 at B&H. Is it possible?
