Dieter Schaefer
Found myself loggged out of PN this morning and when attempting to login was directed to the new subscriber page. I ignored it and tried to login again, from my bookmarked link to PN. After typing my username and password in again (they had somehow vanished and were not supplied automatically from my browser software) I was back in and at 'my workspace'. Wonder what would have happened had I tried to sign up again as a new user? Loss of all my images? Loss of my subscription? Did PN make some software changes that prompted this weird behavior? Or did someone hack PN and this was an attempt to hijack accounts?
MODERATOR EDIT: Please see the note from programmer Jin Choi further down the page.

. pmj
Something seems to have changed in the photo.net configuration that causes people to be redirected from "www.photo.net" to "photo.net". Login cookies explicitely state either one, so if you were logged into www.photo.net yesterday (as will be the case for many people), you will find yourself not logged in today on the photo.net website. I am sure one of the system administrators will look into this soon.
nancy s.
Same here.. Not that I mind them verifying my info. Fact is, it might be wise to do this once in awhile.
ronald_moravec1
About every two weeks I have to retype my password. What is getting to me really bad is I am putting in answers and then I can`t get back to the original thread. This morning when I tried to confirm, I was told the thread did not exist. Then I immediately found it. Yestersay I spent a long time on one answer, then it would not post and I could not even find the original after searching for 30 minutes and it was current. It did show back up after an hour. Very strange. A few more and I will start saving all answers to a word doc so I can get them back.
pnital
Add to this, I can not upload new photos to my part in the site. I tryed to upload to another site I have, with no problems but not to PN. what is going on? Please let us know.
pnital
After many attempts, it worked at last.... Bizarre.
Former P.N Member
I experienced the same problem this morning as well - when attempting to log in I was directed to the new account page. I always have the 'remember me' box checked so this is a rare occurance. I restarted my browser (Firefox 2.0.0.5) and had to log in again but this time the process was successful, that is it did not go to the new account page. Just more information for the admins. hanna_cowpe
Same problem here, and when the log-in finally works after many attempts, bookmarking the site will not let me back in.
William Kahn
I've been having the same problem all morning. Sometimes login works, sometimes not. Roll the dice.....
Charles_Webster
I'm having the same problem. When I returned to PN this morning I was asked to log in, which didn't work. But several tries later, the "My Workspace" link appeared and I was logged in. Seems like something at your end changed recently, because I haven't made any changes to my settings in a long time. Thanks <Chas>
jsc
I think I fixed the source of the problem. Please let me know if you continue to see this behavior. We changed the site to redirect all requests to www.photo.net to photo.net, to address the issues people were having with the site search. This means you will have to re-login once because as Patrick noted, cookies are on a per host basis. The other issue, of getting kicked back out to that login page continually, should be resolved. mmmee
I had no kick backs! I want kick backs! Seriously, my new log in worked on one try, hours ago. I wonder what this might do to the old accounts that are not revisited? I think you may have many double accounts from old, and new. The new from frustration at trying to sign in on the old. I wonder if Josh can see all the old (and some bogus) accounts? This might be a really good shortcut to finding out who is real and who is not real. Answer the doorbell when the girl guides come selling the cookies kiddies. :)
