david_c3
Now that there are no 220 films except the Kodak 320, can a 220 back be re-calibrated to act like a 120 back so I don't lose a shot using 120 film.
bryn_evans
220 films are certainly still available in the UK with most of the Kodak and Fuji professional emulsions being offered in that size. Calumet stock them as im sure other pro outlets do so it's just a case of looking a little harder.
max_de_hertelendy
Yep, 120 film ain't that easy to find either, so instead of fiddling with the camera I'd put an extra effort and get 220 film from the sources were it's readily available (just buy a bunch of it each time), unless you are talking about some specific film that just isn't manufactured in that format anymore. bill_palmer2
I think Lawrence's point is that there are no B&W films in 220 except Tri-X 320. My understanding is that wedding photographers were the usual purchasers of 220, so perhaps it isn't too surprising that what's left is a handful of color films. Might be worth finding someone who shoots color who would be interested in trading backs, or selling the back while there is still something of a market and buying a 120 back to replace it. christoph_hammann
Just the other day, I *didn't* loose the 12th frame on a 120 Tri-X 400 roll in a A24 mag, even though that end of the film got clamped in the spindle of my Paterson dev tank. Might just have been luck, though.
