warren_stephens
I normally don?t use mailers unless I am on the road and I use Fuji/Dwayne?s for E-6. I recently picked up some A&I for C-41. I sent off a roll of in date Kodak C-41 B&W and it came back from A&I with several negatives badly streaked. It doesn?t look like light through the back of the camera because the streaks look like chemical smears and they are not consistent. I had heard good things about A&I and I must say I am disappointed. This was a once in a lifetime tour of a railroad freight yard in Chattanooga, TN. And naturally the pictures I was most excited about are the ones trashed. There were about 8 or 9 like these two examples. All in sequence and all from what would have been the first frames inside the cassette but the last shots taken. All the rest on the roll look fine. No two streaks looked alike, are the same size or are located in the same place. There was no note with the processing. I guess all I can expect is a free roll of film and another mailer? robert himmelright
the sine wave pattern is usually from xrays, but you say it looks like chemical streaks? can you take a photo of the negative?
thirteenthumbs
From the image you posted it looks like over exposure from a light leak, end cap removed from film cassette with the darkroom door open???????????
terence_spross1
On the negatives - how do the streaks affect the edge numbers?
gordon_ian_stalker
Could just be due to a cassette slot leak, but I would expect that to be straight, and affect only perhaps only two frames. (I like to leave film tail-out which plugs the hole a bit.) However, it could also be mechanical pressure ie, creased film but that would be obvious. A third option is that the lab has loaded the film into their minilab incorrectly!
