delchev
Hello, A friend of mine gave me a Kiptaron 50/1.3 lens. The lens has no thread for mounting on a body, nor it has a diphragm. It does not have a filter thread either, on the other hand it has a built-in hood, so I guess it was made for some sort of projection machine. I have tried it this morning with some plants in the garden - here are the full size images (Warning - each file is about 2MB). The photoes have been taken using a Olympus E300 Revolt Body. The images have only been converted from RAW using the defaults - no further processing has been applied. The lens has a rather long body, so there is no way of getting focus at distances greater than 10cm (approximately). The questions is - is this lens worth for a macro lens - is the picture I get through it good enough for quality macro photographs? If so, I will start searching for a way to attach it to the body permanently - now the DOF is so shallow that getting a good focus is a real problem, especially (like these photos were taken) with handheld camera... http://photo-zona.net/index.php?APP_ACTION=DISPLAY_IMAGE_BIG&IMAGE_ID=103758 http://photo-zona.net/index.php?APP_ACTION=DISPLAY_IMAGE_BIG&IMAGE_ID=103758
