john_riexinger
Some of my pictures are coming out with a red overcast over the images. It is not confined to any type picture (outdoors or indoors. I am not sure what is causing it. I am using a Canon EOS 35mm camera. If anybody has any suggestions please let me know. It does not happen all the time and it has done it on several different rolls of film.
randall ellis
Wow, you've got some bad light leaks there. I would suggest that you contact Jon Goodman for one of his light seal replacement kits. They are very easy to do yourself and certainly less expensive than having it done by a repair shop. He goes by the name 'Interslice' on ebay. - Randy
doug_axford1
Definitely fogged. Probably a light leak(s) in you camera. That's my guess. If that's the case, the images will be most red when you have the camera outside. If you post an exact series of images, you should be able to see if it could be a film cassette that was left in the sun. The telltale sign is if the leak in the same area as the diameter of the film when it is wound up. Unless you cropped the sample image, the leak cannot be along the hinge side because the leak is going the wrong direction to the film. ben_hutcherson
Has this happened on more than one roll, or just one roll? The reason I ask is it almost looks to me as if perhaps the cannister was leaking(as an above poster mentioned) or the lab fogged the film in the course of processing. I've also seen a pattern like that the one or two times that I've snapped open the back of my camera without rewinding the film.
john falkenstine
That's what it looks like to me;-opened the back of the camera with the film in it. I just did this yesterday and quickly closed the door again, (You, this keep additional light from moving in and doing more damage, ahem). What caused this was that the EOS camera models often appear to have no film in them when a roll of FUJI film is in there. However, at the time this was no problem for me. I quickly shot through the remainder of the partially exposed roll, rewound it (This chases out the stray light particles).
bueh
As the others suggested, this is definitively a light leak. Hard to say if it's in-camera or done in processing. I'd check the light seals on your camera and take a close if there are cracks etc in the camera's back.
