XTi Scam?

Recommended Posts

My 20D broke becasue I dont take care of cameras. I dont care, I use them not collect them. Anyways all

my other lenses and stuff are still working so I only need a body. I was thinking about getting a XTi.

I came across these deals. I was wondering if anyone else knows if these are too good to be true?

Bait and switch. The old "out of stock" scam. Inflated shipping charges. Over priced accessories. Non-delivery. Lost orders after hitting your card. It's a jungle out there. I just bought an XTi from Hunts, who are reputable for around 700. I have bought from B&H and Adorama who have served me well.

I don't collect them either but I still try to take care of them. If you're wealthy enough to adopt that philosophy then trying to find a great-but-bogus deal seems a bit incongruous to me. Good luck!

I was looking at something like that but Canon does not promise anything for a camera like that. and when it says "body only" it really means body only as in no box no instructions no nothing, proboboly doesnt even come with a strap so id be very careful about prices like that.

http://www.resellerratings.com is a very good resource.

The comments I always enjoy reading are the ones that say:

"I read these negative comments about this company before placing my order, but the price was so good, I thought I'd take a chance. Now they have my merchandise and I sent a check and it was cashed and they scream abuse into the phone and hang up on me when I call, the police and DA won't do anything for me, and I really wish I had believed the negative comments instead of throwing my money away."

WC Fields suggested that it was morally wrong to allow a sucker to keep his money. You now have the tools you need to avoid being a sucker. Now you have a choice to make.
