valo_soul
Has anybody heard anything about this sensor brush? Any first hand use? I don't have any dry sensor cleaning solution right now and I don't know if I should get this one (which is made by Photographic Solutions: the maker of Eclipse and Sensor Swabs) or the one from Visible Dust. blueviews
I have tried both and the Visible Dust ones seem to work better at least in my hands. Bill
valo_soul
Another quick question, anyone dealt with www.micro-tools.com? They sell some items for sensor cleaning. Normally I wouldn't buy from there but I can't find any other place that sells the brush and ships to Canada.
funkag
I'm pretty sure Visible Dust is a Canadian company, so maybe you could buy directly from them.
wolver
CopperHill makes an excellent sensor brush (less expensive than VisibleDust) and does ship to Canada.

james_sawle
I hate brushes, I hate most things that come into contact with the sensor, but only because it scares the crap out of me, I have a repeating issue that I have spent so much money on, it is called 'Mr. Hair', and he really hates me, I just can not get rid of this minute hair that I can see when I produce an image at f/22, and I can even move it around when using a brush, so I know that I can affect it, but I just can not get rid of it, I have tried blowers, and even 3 different types of liquid and swabs, all very gingerly applied, and every time, I check it, I can see a minute line of 'Mr. Hair' on the sensor, and sure enough after cleaning the thing is still there, but in a different place, it becomes very annoying, and I even get to the stage of wishing I had a film camera instead, but after taking over 2000 images a day, I am happy it is digital!. So if anyone has yet found a brush that is soft enough to not cause any damage to the sensor, or a full proof cleaning method, then I would be greatful to hear about it, as I think brushes stink!, especially as I am sure that is where Mr. Hair came from. chris_clarke3
The Arctic Butterfly is great. My wife is a watercolour painter and she was impressed with the quality of the brush hairs. I don't know if you are aware of how it works? It is motorised so that prior to gently stroking your sensor, the brush is spun to electro-statically charge the brush so it attracts the dust to the brush. No scrubbing or pressure. I had a pretty dusty sensor and I found three sweeps cleared it off nicely.I have also noticed the weather sealing on my main lens (24-70) seems to keep dust out too.
