KEH catalog

Recommended Posts

I used to receive the KEH catalog 13 times a year. Each issue contained not

only what they had for sale, but also many interesting articles. I really

enjoyed reading it, and I bought a lot of equipment based on their articles.

About 15 months ago I stopped receiving it. I've called in several times to

request copies. I got various anwers:

-One Employee promised to send one, but I never got it.

One said I hadn't spent enough money with them (this after I'd

just bought a Canon 5D and several lenses.)

-Another said they send out very few nowadays.

So, I'm wondering what your experiece has been. I'd appreciate any advice your

could give me in getting catalogs regularly.

Happy spring to all

Ron Payne.

I still get them at my home address, where I've only had about $250 worth of home merchandise sent total in all of my buying with KEH. As I recall, I filled out a request on their website, at which point I got on the list and started getting them. That was about a year ago, and have gotten them regularly since then.

I don't receive them at my school address, to which I've had some quite a bit sent.

In any case, I've never seen an article in the ones I've received-just the merchandise an that's it.

I don't do much more than flip through the paper catalogs-The website lists more stuff, plus it's a lot more up to date. For example, last Friday a Canon FD 300mm 2.8L in Ugly condition with hood, caps, and case showed up for $379 on the website. Before I had a chance to call and get details(i.e. whether or not the ugly rating was due to the condition of glass or because of missing white paint), it was gone from the website. Had I relied on the paper catalog, I would likely have never seen the lens.

I usually get two catalogs a month. They must have me in their database twice. I have bought maybe $2-3000 worth of stuff over the last 5 or so years. My last purchase was a real surprise. I ordered a button rewind M2 and got KS15-4 (military version of the M2-R). I've never gotten a bad deal or been unsatisfied with the camera condition.
