Has Anyone Dealt With These People?

Recommended Posts

There is a company called TDATrading and they sell photographic equip. I was

wondering if anyone has dealt with these people and if they are recommended?

I want to order several batches of film from them, but I want to make sure I'm

getting a good deal and not a cheap price on film thats about to expire.

Thanks so much.

They have a 99% rating on eBay. Looks like they take close out on discontinued photography products and sell it for cheap. My guess is that film you will buy will probably be the type that will expire quicker. But with film nowadays there is not really any guarantee that even if you buy it from a reputable source that the expiration date will be years away.

Here is my issue with them and another company called Superiaphoto...

I see a lot of spelling errors on their webpages, and that tends to make me think that they are a shotty company.

Is that wrong?

I guess if the price is right, and they have secure payment methods, than I should go for it, but I have my reservations.

SHOTTY...SHODDY...Who cares?!

I'm not the one with the company website.

But if I were, you bet I would have it proofread.

Anyhow, I'm not so concerned about expired film. Even if was expired by a couple months, I can deal with that.

My concern is my credit card number being floated around.

I was the victim of credit card fraud about a year ago, and the company that leaked it was...well...lets just say it was a company that I'm sure a lot of us photo types have bought from...

I can't blame Mark for having a little fun. I don't generally get wrapped up about the spelling of others, especially on Internet posting forums, because like Craig did, I'm almost guaranteed to mispell something in the post commenting about spelling errors. It's Murphy's Law.

But Craig, I do understand your trepidation -- it doesn't reflect well on a company if their advertising is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. That would make me uncomfortable about dealing with them, as well.

Well, earlier this evening I ordered 10 rolls of short dated (5/2007) 120 Velvia 100F from t.d.a. trading. I couldn't beat the price of $14.95 per pack of 5 rolls($2.99 a roll), and I'll probably use it before its expiration, so that's not of a huge concern to me.

I haven't paid yet, as when I attempted to run the payment through Paypal, the shipping came up double the normal price. I'm awaiting their response to my e-mail, as I suspect that this is a simple error. The shipping calculator showed it being the same price for both 5 and 10 rolls.
