henry_a
For some silly reason I thought we'd see them at PMA or at least an announcement about when they would be available. I've found nothing new on-line about them.

They are on the Zeiss website <a href= "http://www.zeiss.de/en"target= _blank">www.zeiss.de/en but not the Zeiss store. Who's selling these things in the U.S.?

I'm sitting here with a little pile of money accumulated for the 21 and wanting one pretty bad, maybe more than pretty bad.

; >)

Anyone heard any news? henry_a
Where did that info come from? Last I remember they were talking 1st quarter of 2007 which is about to be done.
bill_marshall1
Personal correspondence with Zeiss USA back in January. I was told late March/early April. So, I should ammend my comment to say 3-4 weeks, but they often run a little later than scheduled.
steven_moseley1
Hiya, Henry..you should have realised by now that Oberkochen lies right on top of a time rift...if you stand in the Zeiss reception area and watch the clock on the wall closely some will tell you that you can see the hands moving backwards.... cheers Steve. andy_piper2
At PMA yesterday (Friday) I stopped by the Zeiss booth. They had a real working 21 f/4.5 in the flesh, but the 18mm f/4 was still a "dummy" - 1 fake element and none of the rings moved. The rep said the 21 was about to ship but that the 18 would be a few months longer (June, I believe he said - I was trying out their 15mm and was a bit...distracted). andy_piper2
Should have added that the rep quoted $1300 for the 18 and about $1000 for the 21 - don't know what figures have been circulating before. That's MSRP - street may be lower.
henry_a
Thank you Andy. That's about what I've been thinking about the price. Now for the answer to the mystery question -- who are the dealers for Zeiss ZM lenses in the U.S.? I'm amazed that there seems to be no marketing effort at all. How hard could it be to have basic information out in the world?
