I recently heard on the radio that the City of Galveston hired a firm and payed them well to come up with a better name for the city. I thought that sounded very crazy because its a historic city. How can you just change the name? What they came up with was "Galveston Island." Actually, I thought that was very clever for tourism and maybe worth the millions they may have paid.
