CAN WE STOP COMPLAINING FOR, SAY, 3 DAYS ?

why should people stop. these are customers asking for information regarding a product that many have paid for and that isn't working well (or sometimes at all).

while this site has consistently been unreliable and poorly implemented, the real failing imo has been in the terrible level of communication with the customers. it's ranged from non existent (attempts to comtact PN staff regarding membership questions, abuse issues, technical problems etc are simply ignored) or else it's been needlessly combative and petty.

Mr Root seems geniunely interested in raising the level and quality of communication (which is apppreciated) so let people complain and let him answer.

and frankly, while it may seem a hassle for the moderators to have to answer the same questions over and over regarding the changes to the site, it's the price they pay for asking their customers to be beta testers.

Leszek, I appreciate the thought.

But Lucas has a point as well. I (and everyone at photo.net) understand how annoying the recent glitches have been. And it isn't so much that people shouldn't complain, users alerting us to problems is how most problems/scams/typos are fixed. But rather, I just wish people would check to see if something has been addressed before making the 3rd, 4th or 5th post about a glitch. There is a fine line between saying "Uh, what the heck is going on here?" and flying off the handle with rage. Some people cross it more than they should.

I have pitched the idea of a "photo.net status" forum/blog/announcement board. But at the moment, the programmers have more important stuff to work on. So until we get something like that, the best bet is to either use the contact-us link that is at the bottom of every page, or to check and see if someone has posted here on the Site Feedback forum.

I promise you, Bob and I read every post on the Feedback forum. And I read every email that arrives from the contact-us form.

Well, I didn't complain for a long time, now is my turn. The new design is very nice, but please test it with the 1024x768 resolution. Make it fixed width might be easier to read (try max the browser window on a 20" monitor @ 1600x1200). If you have a not too small bio picture, in Firefox (2.0), it will go behind the bio text. There is a box around the photo.net logo on the Sharing > Top Photos page.

Problem with Your Input
We had some problems processing your entry:
You need to type in a first name
You need to type in a last name
Please back up using your browser, correct them, and resubmit your entry.

If this is partical of the upgrade to inplement Real Name on photo.net, that will be great.

Thanks Josh. You can change the color in your browser, but it also changes all of the other page colors...for every site you visit. There's no option for just changing the visited links color unless you check the box to override ALL of a site's colors.

Too bad. The old layout let us select the visited link color through our own browsers WITHOUT changing all of the site's colors.

That's what is missing from the new layout...and IMO, this is a bug that needs addressing.

Perhaps you can pass that along, or try it yourself with your own browser to see how it works.

Thanks.
