anthony_bez
photo.net transformed in front of my eye's! I have not decided if I like the new look yet? The old simple layout was an attraction to me. But I'm happy to see black text on white background is retained. To keep the post slightly Nikon related it reminds me of the firmware update to my D70. But then I did like the new style menu.
michaelschrag
Interesting, I posted a response to this thead and then I lost everything as I was redirected to log in first. I'd rather be prompted to log in first so I don't lose my response! I am including a shot below to see if anything has changed with that process.<div></div>
michaelschrag
The new site sure seems a lot faster. That's very nice.
ramon_v__california_
format is nice but topic doesn't change color to show it has been read.
skellener
Thank God they updated the site. This format is a huge improvement over the old style. When was the last time that was done, 1998? Agreed about the color for "read" topics. I really like this new style.
frans_waterlander
Change is not necessarily improvement and photo.net just proved it.
lex_jenkins
One of my favorite comic strips is "One Big Happy." A few years ago the little girl Ruthie was walking along with grandpa and said something like, "Grandpa, I don't like change." Grandpa replied, "Well, sure, Ruthie, it isn't always easy to accept change but it's part of life." To which Ruthie responds, "Nope, folding money, green dollars, that's what I like. Not change." (My apologies for paraphrasing - too lazy to look up the original.)
mark newcombe www.mcnphoto
Please make the topics change colour after being read, otherwise nice job. Cheers Mark
Mike_R1664876643
I like the changes, but agree that read posts should show up with a different color. In my opinion, Photo Net is still the best all-around photo site on the web and I hope it keeps going for many years.
dan_brown4
Where's Philip's dog? He's been a landmark since 1997! This is very, very troubling.
pnance
Maybe I'm old, but the text size is very small, even with IE set to large.
photo5
Phil's site "Travels With Samantha" was the first photography site worth looking at when I got on the web in Jan 1995. His site also helped me immensely when I built my first website in 1997. Dave
corkman
I have just one problem with the new format that may be fixable, but I don't know what the fix is. The site used to fit my 19 inch monitor left to right. Now it's wider making me have to scan to scan right to reach what's been cut off. Is anyone else having that problem, and if so, can tell me how to correct it?
geoff_foale
I agree with Mark Newcombe's comment. Because visited topics don't change colour I'm getting lost while browsing and keep going back over the same items. I will probably end up replying to the same topic several times! Matthew Currie
I hope that the color change can be restored too. One thing I really like about the new setup is the reply box on the same page as the whole thread.
Tim_Lookingbill
I like the "Contribute An Answer" input box is now on the same page as the thread similar to blogs. I'm having a problem, though, with margins. The main forum departments section view now squishes the lines of text to form line breaks the width of an inch. Considerable scrolling is required. I hope this isn't an "Mac IE isn't a supported browser" issue or a JavaScript upgrade problem. It was all working fine yesterday with the new look so I don't see how that could be the cause. t_n1
When is photo.net going to switch to SANS SERIF? Seems like this was meant for screen reading, not printing...
kyle shortes
I'm not terribly happy with the layout, the boarders seem to just run into eachother. Maybe I'm picky... :/
