M8 in Cambridge

My M8 is all packed up waiting to be collected for its return to Solms for the

'modification'. I managed to spend a few minutes wandering in Cambridge

yesterday and took a few pictures. It was a very dull day, so B&W seemed

appropriate plus one colour the previous day.<div>00K37H-35104384.jpg.588d30e8ddae52423f1d4cb5d196ce20.jpg</div>

I don't think your rangefinder is out of alignment. In one or two shots, I see subject movement. In a couple other cases, it isn't clear what the plane of focus is, or was intended to be, and I think the depth of field wasn't great, given the dull day and possibly wider apertures. Other shots, including the last one, are very sharp. I might also point out that you did not seem to have focusing issues with the last set you posted, and those were with the same camera. These are nice shots, and interesting as well, Harry. They've got me longing for a field trip!

Funny, though ... your shot of the great court of Trinity ... I half expected to see where they ran the footrace in Chariots of Fire. But I guess that was Caius college, not Trinity ...

Thanks for comments. Frederick, the large court at Caius is much smaller that that at Trinity. The original Chariots of Fire race did in fact take place in the Great Court at Trinity. But Eton College substituted for Trinity in the film (perhaps Trinity wanted too much cash!). My pictures were shot at fairly wide aperture (F4-5.6) and at fairly low speed (60th), so there was some movement.
