don_cooper
What broke Dan, the enclosure, or is the hard drive trashed, or do you know?

windsr
I had an external drive fall from about 3-4 feet, the drive was not active at the time so only the enclosure broke. I was able to move the drive to a new enclosure with not problems. A good enclosure costs about $30-40 if you want usb and firewire.
danscool
Something inside the sealed unit broke i think, when i turn it on it makes a clicking noise for a few minuites before turning itself off. It does not appear on the computer as a hard drive. What i think made it worse was that it was transfering data at the time i dropped it.
