darin1
I wanted to get some opinions on a macro lens. I have a DSLR D50/D200. I 'mpretty much set on the Tamron 90mm macro lens. My question is which one? Tamron90mm f/2.8 di, or 90mm 2.8 older lens. The older lens is about half the price ofthe newer one. Would I be missing anything by going with the older lessexpensive lens or should I with out a doubt go with the newer Tamron 90mm f/2.8di that was made for digital. I like to take pictures of small insects and otherbugs.

rick_quiroga
I use the adaptal version of this lens with a Nikon D40. It won't meter withis lens but it's very easy to zero in the perfect exposure using the histogram or the lCD monitor.<div></div>
kolaczan
I always thought that the "digitally integrated" technology was just sales hype. However, I've got a Tamron telephoto that produces alot of purple fringing with bright subjects on my digital camera where it didn't with film (it is not DI). It could just need a recalibration or something but if I had the choice between DI and non-DI I'd probably spring for the DI. Either way, it is a great lens. You'll be happy with it.<div></div>
rickcampbell
I bought a Tameron 90mm 1:28 and have really enjoyed it. I recently bought extention tubes that come in a set of 3 variying from 12mm-36mm. With these I am able to get very close macros...I have a picture of a fly and you can see each cell in his eyes. Hope this helps
