greg_updyke Posted January 14, 2007 Share Posted January 14, 2007
Matt - this is a very gentle suggestion. There are other subjects in the world that are also interesting to photograph, and there's nothing wrong with developing some diversity. Even if your wife is your only muse, I think there's a limit to how many times you can use her to start a picture of the week thread.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

greg_updyke Posted January 14, 2007 Share Posted January 14, 2007
He is a old man 99 years old

Not really. It's just that I've seen 99 pictures of his wife. Something different once in a while would be interesting - specially since Matt has such a range of good work on his site.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
michael s. Posted January 14, 2007 Share Posted January 14, 2007 My opinion: Matt's girlfriend has a very attractive and very expressive face. And she puts up with Matt. I've never grown the least bit tired of seeing her photo.
Taken last summer, not this week:

<a href=" title="Photo Sharing">
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
vd._technik Posted January 14, 2007 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Brad- great shot. Love the way you are making use of the self-timer. Just one little tip; you might want to photoshop your saggy ar$e out of the image next time. Its not a pleasing site. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mattalofs Posted January 14, 2007 Author Share Posted January 14, 2007 "Even if your wife is your only muse, I think there's a limit to how many times you can use her to start a picture of the week thread." Apparently that limit is two, since this is only the 2nd time I've started pic of the week. Fair enough though, something different next week. jack_lo_..._t_o Posted January 14, 2007 Share Posted January 14, 2007 I would even say that we're lucky to have the kind of extended documentation/photo-essay that Matt Alofs has been giving us. It is nice but not even important that we get to see a very attractive young woman at the same time. Harry Callahan spent a lifetime taking pictures of his wife Eleanor. Stieglitz/O'Keefe, etc. It's a traadition in art that goes way back.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

erudolph Posted January 14, 2007 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Hi Leon... yes, I used an SB-28 off the camera, which is a Hexar RF. I was pointing it in a direction I can't quite recall.... I think upwards and slightly behind me. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
