bob_peters
What's your favourite wedding lens and why? And what body do you use it on? Me: 85mm f1.2L on a 5D because I find it the perfect focal length for most of my shots and it's never too slow.
mary_s
I love the 85 1.2L, but I just got the 50 1.2L and I think I like it even more. Also on a 5D.
ryan_brenizer
The Nikon 1200-1700mm f/5.6-f/8. I'm shy. Isn't this asked almost every day here?
lucafoto
Mary, How has the 50mm 1.2 been? I have the 85 1.2 and love it, but I have read that the 50mm is too soft, especially for the price of L glass. I really love the 70-200 2.8 IS, it has an excelent bokeh, and can really get in close without being intrusive.
William Michael
Easy statistical answrer. > 1200 weddings, 90% had a fast (F1.8 or faster) 85mm on FF 35mm body. On Medium format: 80mm Leaf Shutter Why - 35mm perfect Focal length for B&G portraits and half shots with good backround blur, fast for available light work and also to exploit shallow DoF. For Med. Format perfect Focal length for formal group portraiture, and single portraiture and obvious advantage of leaf shutter = flash fill creativity. robbie_caswell
I've just switched to the 5D and would vote 85mm f/1.8 and that was also the case with my D200... though the 17-55 was more practical.
rob_s___san_francisco_bay_
16-200mm f/1.4L IS <p> I can dream, right :-)
conraderb
My 16-200 1.4 L IS is pretty heavy, and not totally sharp at 1.4, but otherwise, a great lens. Highly recommend, and a great value at only $11,000 - replaces the 70-200, 24-70L and 16-35L.
