Lens for Nikon FM10

My first Nikon is an FM10. First, ask your teacher. Second, what do you want to do? If you want to shoot in low light, Nikon makes excellent fast 50mm lenses (with maximum apertures of 2.8 or wider). If you want a telephoto zoom. The manual focus 70-210mm 1:4 has served me well and is cheap. Finally, read the Nikon Compendium for reviews of almost all Nikon lenses, especially the manual focus lens that work best with the FM10. Good luck.

Agree with the comments on the 50mm. Great optical quality & fast.

Maybe look at both the 135mm F2.8 & the 200mm F4 Nikkors, which can be picked up quite cheaply. Reviews that I have read rate them well for performance, & I have certainly been happy with what my two have produced.

The 105mm F2.5 still commands a good price used. The other two aren't so fashionable any more, hence I was able to get both of them for less than cost of the 105mm.

50mm f1.8 Series E. Just as good as the AI-S, half the (already low) price.

Then add Sigma SuperWide II 24/2.8 (Runs much less than the AI-S, as good or better if you don't need CRC) and a 135mm f3.5 (cheaper than the 2.8) and you've got an excellent kit.

Nikkor 50mm AiS 1.4, Mint on fleaBay is $150usd

Nikkor 135 AiS 2.8 LN on fleaBay is $100usd

For 50mm AiS, although 1.8 is well known work horse, but i will go 1.4 all the way especially they are not that expansive. Faster is still faster. If you wanna put a bit more. 45mm 2.8P is actually a sexy beast to work with too.
