Problem with Olympus FE 140 Camera

I am currently having a problem with my Olympus FE-140 camera. I recently

pulled it out to use it and when I turned it on it immediately went to a blue

screen with a red outline of a camera showing the battery/card door open, and it

says "CARD-COVER OPEN". I cannot use the camera whatsoever but to burn up

batteries.

I opened the battery/card door and turned it over to get the batteries out,

and with them came a tiny little plastic piece the size of a crumb. i think it

came from a little slot that says "push to eject" under it (Screen side down),

has the memory card drawing to the left of it and the battery placement outline

above it. i look in the slot and see a tiny little gold spring in a little

plastic box.

I was wondering if this could be the cause of the blue screen? What do I need to

do to get it fixed/replaced? Is there a way for me to fix this myself possibly

an override or something of the sort?
