ap78
Here's more information about this new camera. I'm really excitedabout this one, and wonder in Leica will make their own version. Ifnot, then I'd be happy if Leica produced some fast primes for thePanasonic body.

Be sure to go to page two for the pictures.

http://dpnow.com/2510.html
nathaniel_pearson
Web scuttlebut has it that Konica AR lenses will, with fairly (i.e., home-doable) modification, mount fairly nicely on the 4:3 mount. Pics I've seen from the results have been slightly underwhelming (bouncing light from the larger image circle can reduce contrast a little, apparently), but this brings lenses like the AR 57/1.2 and 40/ 1.8 into the digital realm. Plus Sigma just released a 30/1.4 prime for 4:3. All told, some intriguing developments.
johnny massey
Has anyone yet said if it is the same mount as the Olympus E-series? If it is that brings (via the 4:3 adapter) all the old Zuiko glass into play, some of which rocks. A 250mm (read 500mm) f2 anyone?
benjamin_shapiro2
yes, same mount.

steve_chan5
Another interesting page on that site is a side by side noise comparison of the E-330 vs E-500, as well as a DXO noise analysis.
I don't know how much that DXO analysis tells us, since it scores the Canon Drebel XT as having the worst noise at all ISO's, when most people think the Canon dslr's have excellent noise characteristics (especially compared to the Olympus dslrs). But at least from a one test, the DMC L1 sensor has the potential of reasonable high ISO noise performance.
paul_neuthaler
Fat, ugly thing IMHO
mattalofs
Well, at least it's got a shutter speed dial and aperture ring. That's always felt more more intuitive to me than command dials do. I wonder if it takes pictures?
andrew robertson
"I thought Leica couldn't 'make' an autofocus image stabilised lens" What makes you think Leica makes this 'Leica' lens? It's a Leicasonic.
