simonpg
It's many many months since I did much with my old Voigtlander 6x6 folders - I've now renewed my vows! I took my mint Bessa 66 and Perkeo folders out for a stroll last weekend and every image filled me with delight - colour and B&W. Wow a 6x6 MF camera that fits in my back pocket! The Bessa 66 (like new except for a small dent on the top plate) came into my hands for $25 with a neat swing type Voigtlander original yellow filter and one of those original focus measure devices you fit to the cold shoe plus that funny looking 6x6 framing device (square block) that also can fit the cold shoe. The Perkeo which is flawless cost me $40. I had a CLA done on both 6 months ago to be sure shutter speeds are great and that their life in my hands starts with a good health check, which only cost me $20 each. Anyway, I just wanted Voigtlander MF folder enthusiasts to know that there is one more out there. These are one hell of a camera. Finally, my Fuji Frontier lab said when they handed me the prints - "wish the new digicams could make images that good!"
andrea_ingram1
I have a couple of old folding Voigtlanders - and love them. The 6x9 rangefinder is my favourite but the Perkeo comes a close second. You can see some of the images from these cameras here;
2yellowdogs
I just bought my first Voigtlander folder this week, a Bessa 66 in decent shape with the flip-up filter. Can anyone tell me where on the net I can download a copy of the manual? Thanks.
mharris
I just got my first also for 12 dollars, I need to CLA the shutter and it's missing the 6X4 mask but I can't wait to run film through it.<div></div>

ole_tjugen
Oh yes. The Perkeo is a great little camera, and the Bessa is a great not-so-little camera (mine's a 6x9 model). And then there's the plate cameras - I now have a VAG (6.5x9), an Avus(9x12) and two Bergheils (6.5x9 and 9x12) - both Bergheils have Heliar lenses too. simonpg
Funnily enough each of the Bessa 66 and Perkeo II has a great feature missing on the other - both a very good and much fun to use. Andrea you images are superb - such wonderful use of these classic cameras - well done! :) I would, however like to get my hands on a good Bessa 6x9 - probably the ultimate folder.
