kelly_mank
I have been using white seamless paper for some time now to shoot children and babies. I really like the look and feel of the pictures. The style is somewhat like the PicturePeople style if you are familiar with this. My question is that the paper gets ruined and ripped and dirty so quickly, what else is out there? PicturePeople uses some sort of Vinyl almost.. it looks as if it is cleanable with a sponge.. I am not sure. Does anyone know where to get backdrops like this? Very interested in getting something more durable that will give the same effect. Thanks a bunch! michelle a.
Hi Kelly, This is where I got my white vinyl backdrop.... http://www.backdropoutlet.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=831&osCsid=b957102211aa13661112ebe377417460 I'm not sure if you'll like it or not.... I've found the size of it is hard to manage. I suppose it would work in a fixed studio environment, but because I travel it's hard. First of all it weighs a ton, and folding it back up is a nightmare! I wish I could find one similar in a smaller size.... Maybe someone else knows of some others.... mike_earussi1
I just went to a material store and bought 12' of 110" wide white cloth. It's durable, washable and has a matt surface (wouldn't vinyl cause reflection problems?).
michelle a.
The surface on the white vinyl backdrop from Backdrop Outlet is also a matte finish... Not shiny at all.
rate one of mine
I love shower curtains. Ikea has ones that feel like they are made of very thin silicone, they can be stretched, washed, have a silky flat finish, don't wrinkle and back light beautifully. Best of all they cost only a few dollars and they come in a whole mess of colors.
