miguel_coronado
Im interested in buying a 85mm 1.2 from canon I find the fast aperture and build atractive but I have the feeling its not a lens for the street rather a studio tool perhaps I got it wrong please comment any one thanks. mikemilton
I have the original 85F1.2 and use it on an EOS3 and an EOS1DmII (I have also used it on a D30 and a 10D) It is definitely not limited to studio work. It is great for isolating subject matter (like flowers, leaves, hummingbirds) in nature shooting and for low-light field work. m
brian_potts
It is a very, very nice lens. You can certainly use it in many situations including the street or studio. I personally think it is a waste for most studio work, since it would be fairly unusual to use the lens at faster apertures in the studio. The only weakness would be the speed of the autofocus. It is not up to the speed of the 85 f/1.8...neither the original or the Mark II version of the 85 f/1.2L. With this said, I have shot gymnastics with the original 85 f/1.2L with far more luck than I even expected. It isn't as bad as some make it out to be for focus speed. matt_sallis
Why not a lens for the street? It's use is only limited by you and your imagination. Buy one and enjoy it, it produces pictures like no other lens. I have the Zeiss 85mm f1.2 50 year anniversary edition and it has become my favourite lens of all.<div></div>
