slichtyler
Looking at www.canoneos.com this morning, I noticed that the Elan 7N has disppeared. I suspect Canon is just following Nikon's lead, and eliminating all but the simplest consumer SLRs and the professional SLRs. I can't imagine that Canon has been investing in an updated prosumer film camera, but maybe I'm wrong.
stephenwagnerphoto.com
Digital Rebel is gone too.
mark u
I suspect that this is no more than a typical glitch on Canon's site - there have been several similar occurrences in the past. The disappearance of the basic Rebel DSLR may have more significance, since Canon needs a more competitve entry level offering - which may be announced ahead of PMA. jim_j2
Only time will tell! But in keeping the EOS 1's and 3's alive and well you would think an intermediate would be marketable! Looks like there is a significant gap between the two Rebel Models and the EOS3. Glad to have my Elan7e and EOS3. They should last the next 20 years or so. And my Father's old Argus C3, light meter and accessories are still fully functional.
mark u
Only the link has gone from the EOS cameras page - the details of the Elans are still on site: http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=138&modelid=9831 Besides, the equivalent models are still shown as available on other Canon sites. andrew robertson
"Canon needs a more competitve entry level offering" I have a feeling that they'll just eliminate the 300D and lower the price on the 350D.
funkag
The Elan 7n is gone from the latest B&H catalog, too. Just the 7ne is listed. It is still on the website, though. Maybe just left-over stock.
bobatkins
It means nothing. Stuff comes and goes all the time on the Canon websites as they make changes and make errors. The US website is often out of sync with the websites in Europe and Asia. Again, it means nothing.
pto189
All film cameras will be gone except EOS 1 and EOS 3.
andrew robertson
"All film cameras will be gone except EOS 1 and EOS 3." I doubt it. Canon will probably retain one Rebel, and Elan, the 3 and the 1, if only to further distinguish themselves from Nikon.
franklin_polk
Canon's site is very innaccurate. It probably means nothing. However, I had been under the assumtion that the orginal Digital Rebel had been offically discontinued when the Rebel XT was introduced. My latest B&H catalog still lists both the 7n and the 7ne, so maybe yours was a printing error?
