george_rhodes
The foam gasket/seal on the bottom of my old Pentax 67 TTL meter became gooey and mostly melted/corroded to pieces. It was slopping up everything. It became such a problem, that I removed it entirely, to where the bottom of my meter, where the foam used to be, is now a shiny smooth black surface. I would like to replace the gasket with new material. Does anyone know where I get the material to make a new foam gasket? douglas_green1
Jon Goodman, who sells under the ebay ID: "interslice" sells closed cell neoprene foam for use as mirror bumpers and light seals. I've used his adhesive backed 1/16th inch thick Neoprene to make a new gasket for the TTL prism, and it seats snuggly and works great.
douglas_green1
Correction, I used his 1/32" thick adhesive backed neoprene foam for the gasket, not the 1/16" foam. If you contact Jon, he'll either recommend one of his light seal kits, which includes that foam, or he'll just sell you a couple of sheets of that foam for a few bucks including postage. george_rhodes
I have an answer to my own question. I was happy to find that Pentax still stocks the gaskets. There is a top gasket and a bottom gasket. The gaskets cost .80 cents each. There is also a small shipping and handling charge.
matt_erck1
How were you able to get the gaskets for your Pentax? I need to replace all of mine, but I'm having trouble finding them. Do you have a contact # or email address for the supplier? Matt
