Impulsive is not an attitude. It is the refusal to consider the consequences before you open your mouth. To me attitudes are arrogant, superior, entitled.

I get a kick out of the assumption around here that it's the "bad guys" -- you know, the ones who are rude to other posters -- who are the most talented photographers. In my years of looking at photos here, I've seen some of the best work posted by the most helpful and civil forum members. And the bad guys' work usually doesn't move me very much.

I, for one, wouldn't mind having a nice big red star next to my

name. Or a happy Roger.

I'm with Jonathan. To paraphrase Freud, sometimes a bad guy is just a bad guy. :-)

Eugene, I hope you will follow your own advice and market (or sell) yourself better and make some money, name, etc on the way-if you could use(need) any of it. Use it to your advantage.

now that crap is the stuff that should really get people banned. Has nothing at all to do with photography......it's not even a critique using bad language. It's only purpose is to "bait" someone into getting pissed enough to reply with a more direct and more offensive comment.

 

I've been watching these bannings, and the majority of them are in direct response to seemingly innocent statements wrapped in sarcastic wit that are only a disguise for extremely bad manners and language. At least with Grant it didn't take a linguistics expert to deciphier the statement.

 

That's what really gets me.....people like Mr. "tissue" man above can bait everyone, yet when someone give it back with a fully loaded gun..........guess who gets banned? Not the English major...that's for sure.

Where's the freaking photos? To para phrase Grant: Shut the fuk up. All the petty arguing just

sux. : -)

 

Post some damed photos instead of telling everyone how great you are, or how great

someone else is.

There is ample room for discussion without getting inflammatory. What bugs me are the people who come to the Leica Forum just to put down Leica photographers. They themselves wouldn't be caught dead with one of these antiquated film gobbling relics. I know that it's often a judgement call on the part of the moderators as to whether somebody is making uncalled for nast remarks about the photographs or the photographer, but there are too many really nasty people here. It reminds me of a bunch of middle school kids taunting a classmate. If they can't learn to behave in a civil manner then good riddance to them.

You're getting better Al - at least you've changed your tune from <I>leica bashers</I> ( ie

the inanimate camera itself being bashed). Your rehabilitation will be complete with more

time for reflection. A question to ponder, for example, is, why are <B>YOU</B> the only

one who feels "put down?" I could name close to a dozen forum <I>Leica

photographers</I> that don't feel that way. Yet for some reason you're feeling special.

Both forums only exist because of one of these stupid Hatfield and McCoy wars. In which, I might add, you are always involved if not right out front of your gang rabble-rousing them into battle. The artificial partition between the two forums is arbitrary and I do not feel, nor should I feel any compunction about posting on LF or SD. Even though you promote the myth that they are separate forums and people should inhabit one or the other, together they are the same forum as before with the same players and the same issues. This is all BS and you, sir, are at the heart of it. Stop!

Again with this mania? Al, I don't see all that harassment here or wherever else, no digital users tryin' to put leica lovers down, no "other forum's" guys provocating intentionally...
