nigel_keene
Bit of advice needed here I have to use one of a number of scots taken at a recent swimming gala to use as as accompany for a press release to local newspapers, the one I like the most was unfortunately the one were I was too close with a fixed focal lens and chopped his hands off. That said the focas is really the swimmers face so would you accept it if it were you?
John Crowe
The arms do look pretty chopped. I know this is pretty tight but I think it is more acceptable. You need to try a few different crops to see what is good.<div></div>
jake_cole
I also like the alternate tighter crop posted, something like this is the way to go.
armando_roldan
I feel the 2nd image is a little too tight but the first could use some chopping off the left side. then again, I seem things posted if you can't get tight, your not close enought...... nigel_keene
Thanks for your advice guys, I kinda think you are right. I'm gutted really as that was the shot of the gala for me, but hopefully I can still salvage something from it.
Ian Taylor
Perfectly fine for local press releases IMO. Might not work for the cover of Sports Illustrated, but you shouldn't feel gutted. It's sharp and gets the point across well.
2yellowdogs
I like the original version better, but I'm not an editor. As for the shot itself, very nice work.
nigel_keene
Thanks Dan, the one I went for in the end was a compromised crop, but thank you all for your input.....N
