WM
Just wondering what the differences are between these films ? I have only tried Tri-X400 and Neopan 400, and Tri-X 400 have a very definite, grain structure, great tonality, not very fine grained, while the Neopan 400 is almost grainless, higher contrast. If you could share some of your experiences about the others would be great (and in particular how far you could push/pull them ?) I am quite inexperienced in B&W films, so go easy on me. Hehehe ! Thanks very much !
jordan_w.
Wee-Ming, how are you developing these films?
jtk
I've recently been excited by Neopan 400...rating it "normally" at 800 or maybe 1600, processing in Emofin, it makes a FLAT negative, far from contrasty :-) Perfect for scanning.
seto_sai_hung
I tested a few rolls of Neopan 400 rated at 800 and developed in Tmax 1+4 at 85% and 75% of the recommended time at 20degree C and both camoe out contrasty and I did not like the results. I suppose I am not getting the hang of the developing time yet. Should I Try longer time or shorter time? or is it the developer?
