david_m
Interesting camera, I like the clover-leaf film speed window. Nice shots. Colour is wonderful. Imagine those shots in monochrome.
john_shriver
Boy, central Mass is actually getting some color. We're sure not expecting much in coastal Mass this fall, between strange temperatures and a lot of rain...
richard_oleson
I have at least 2 working Contax S self timers in dead cameras; email me...... :)=
h._p.
My first serious camera was a Pentacon FM which was probably two models later than the one Gene has. By modern standards it had a horrible screen and was inconvenient to use but I learnt an awfull lot from it.<div></div>
Brian
Nice pics and an interesting camera. I really must try and use my old cameras more.

kevin_lee5
Gene, very nice pictures. I am curious that did you scan the prints or the negatives? What scanner did you use? Thank you.
richard_oleson
For those who are not familiar with that camera --- it appeared with different names, starting out originally as the Contax S. This was the first camera with an eye level pentaprism viewfinder, and it also originated the M42 screw lens mount (although Praktica shares in that honor) :)=
david_richert
I have the Contax D at first I thought the self timer was broke but it works differently than other cameras. First cock the shutter, 2nd turn the self-timer lever, 3rd this is the different part turn the little knurled knob(clock wise when facing it) in the center of the shaft on the self-timer this is what trips it. Gene nice fall colors of all the seasons that's the one I miss the most having grown up in Michigan.

john falkenstine
Very nice, I like the colors and the quality of the images is impressive especially when you consider that they're scanned on a supposedly inferior flatbed unit...Lately, I've had an excellent time shooting pics with supposedly outdated and inferior equipment including point and shoots from Thrift Stores, sidewalk sales and "broken units" purchased from Ebay. andrew_hall1
Actually the Consol belonged to the Contax D series which in turn was an improved version of the Contax S. Cameras bearing the Consol name was supposely "export grade." http://www.praktica-collector.de/096a_Consol.htm
