Olympus C750 Macro mode and others

I LOVE my Olympus C750UZ. How does the macro mode work? (flower icon) I can

turn it on, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Shouldn't it enable me

to focus up close on things like flower centers or insects? What is the

difference between the flower icon and the little box with the dot inside it?

Is there a specific setting that must be used when trying to use Macro mode?

(ie. auto, face icon, running guy icon, mountain icon etc)
