wildwoodgallery
How well does this work? Right now I'm using Eboni Black for bo prints. Thinking of putting the MIS color pigment in to get longer life on color prints. Is this working well for those who have done this? How well are the colors compared to the Epson dye ink? Thank you, Rick
bobmichaels
I've upgraded from the MIS Archival Color to the new MIS PRO in my 1280 and really like them. The colors are better than the Epson dye and are just as linear. First pigment I have found that actually prints better then the Epson dye. It does require a custom printer profile but it's worth it to me to be able to use pigment ink that looks better than dye. I got my printer profile from Cathysprofiles.com. $40, great profiles and quick turnaround. FWIW, I've printed BO with Eboni ever since it hit the market. I printed BO with many other K's before that.
matt_haber1
This is really a response to Bob's.... Bob-- I've been considering mis Pro for a 1270 or 1280, and was waiting til the promised MIS profiles are available. I just checked the MIS website, and they don't mention Pro and 12xx on the same page any more. Do you know anything about why that might be? -matt
bobmichaels
Matt: it seems the MIS website has been a "work in progress" forever. They keep trying to organize it and I'm not sure that's ever possible to cross reference everything. And, there is a lot of art as well as science in all the applications. I just know they know me the MIS PRO works in a 1280/1290 and my experience sure proves that true. I would wait for them to create a generic 1280/1290 profile just to save the $40. Have one made for your printer and enjoy the benefits of it being custom plus having it now. Mine came from Cathysprofiles.com and I'm very happy with it. Plus she's easy to deal with. I'd share it except each of their profiles is a single user license.
bobmichaels
Whoops, my response should read: I would NOT wait for a generic profile to save the $40.
