OMG! I'm starstruck. Gag me with a spoon this is a wicked cool thread. It's musical in a way, the way the pics flow into each other. humbling

lutz
Hi, at the risk of being the party-pooper, there are only very few among these 100+ pics that I personally feel really attracted by and that I want to study and let sink in for more than 1 second (5 or 6 shots by G4 - if you care I could nail them - and Ian's wonderful fairground scene are standing out). Most of what I'm seeing here is either (mostly gritty) eye-candy (more like "eye-fisherman's friend - if they're too strong, you're too weak" kind of stuff) or (more or less successful) grab shots - nothing really much felt or sweated before, while or after shooting. Okay, I'm ducking and I know that most of my stuff isn't up to my own high standards - but in the light of so much active and passive enthusiasm prevailing I thought I'd share this slightly more critical and very personal view of mine. <p>On the other hand it's comfortable not having to switch from the Leica forum to the Street forum and back, for once. ;-) Okay, shoot... vivek iyer
Feel free to illustrate your point with examples of your own images, Lutz- unless you would care to go through each and every one to offer suggestions for improvement before dismissing them summarily like you did. Yours is no criticism. I don't want to say what it is as it isn't worthy. Hope your life is interesting otherwise :-)

vivek iyer
Lutz, I appreciate your response and explanation. If my posts above had been harsh to elicit a response like this from you, I apologize. I believe it is better for folks to come up with something explanatory so that the rest of us could learn from it as to why. Besides, it is far more constructive this way than blurting out words (or something incoherent), "sucks", "kma" and the like. I have no qualms with your choices and the reasons for it. I hope you (and the others) would care to take the time to do it this way. Thanks!
Uhooru
Nice Lutz, you've now given us a bunch of words which represent the sub-texts you've projected on to a few photos, I still don't see a critique of anything here including how the photos fit into the title of the thread (hint). Instead of thousands of words, why don't you just illustrate with a few pictures on this W/NW thread.
lutz
Sorry, Barry - missed your point: Illustrate what? What I like about the pictures mentioned...?
