jerry_g
All,I may be in the wrong category, but here's my question. I will be traveling to China soon. I do not want to take my laptop to download images every day. Is it possible to take blank CDs and have images downloaded to them at a Kodak store or another company? thanks, JG
leeuwtje
Why not buy a portable CD writer?Or an image bank (portable hard drive with cardreader)? I've never been to China but the above solutions will make you more flexible in any country. Leeuwtje
mr._smith
Here's another solution for storing images when traveling. http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/accessories/P-2000.shtml
nigel_nagarajan
There is actually a Travel Photography forum on this site (although you wouldn't know it from the drop-down menus!). Look under All forums. Anyway, to answer your question, I suspect that there will be places that will do this for you in the bigger cities. I found one place in Lhasa that offered this service, but there were probably more. There are apparently quite a few Kodak Pro Centres in China. You could check with Kodak in the country you are in to see if this service is available in their Chinese bureaus. On the other hand, I agree that something like an Epson P-2000 is a better solution. mr._smith
Even better than the Epson P-2000 is the Epson P-4000 which has just been annonced. http://www.dpreview.com/news/0509/05092202epson_p4000.asp
pa1
Jerry - simple answer is yes. Don't worry about the CDs, the shops will supply. They're usually near the tourist areas/centres; eg T'men Sq, Jin Mao etc, cost me approx Rmb30 - USD4. Have fun, beautiful country
