carl_glover
A lovely lens. I used it quite a bit photographing cranes in a construction site for an annual report and they came out wonderful. There were no converging verticals at all. I use this lens about 40% of the time on one of my Rolleis and I'm beginning to get used to the increased weight. They are being sold at a bargain price at Robert White I notice.... thomas_diekwisch1
Best lens of its sort for MF SLR. Only view cameras get better. Even after shift, the image quality in the corners is on par with the best non-shift wideangles. The only problem is the 55mm focal length, which is less than fortuitous for many applications. I'd love to have something wider, e.g. 45mm. I also have the 45mm Arsat shift for my Pentax, but that one is fairly soft in the corners when shifted. Alas, for your 6008 the 55mm is the lens of choice, slightly heavy, but second to none.
OCULUS New York
Hello Robert, I just raved about mine over on the Leica corporate forum. Indispensible for architecture, and I suppose a lot of product shooting in a studio. I got mine used in v good condition about a year ago for $1500 on ePrey. FYI, I later heard that an overhaul, including replacing the front element is $1500 from Schneider. I call it my horned monster. http://d6d2h4gfvy8t8.cloudfront.net/2013455-lg.jpg Some examples: http://d6d2h4gfvy8t8.cloudfront.net/2092930-lg.jpg (Foreground cropped) http://d6d2h4gfvy8t8.cloudfront.net/2092945-lg.jpg Same localle with only the 40 Distagon: http://d6d2h4gfvy8t8.cloudfront.net/1381142-lg.jpg Love it, Ray Hull
