john_mauser
Hi All, I've shot a few roles of B&W film with my Holga and it's been a lot of fun. I want to try some color with the holga but I'm not sure what to put in it. Any recomendations on what yall prefer? E6 or C41? I've got a bunch of Fuji Velvia 100 in the fridge, should I stick with 400 instead? Everyone give your opinion so maybe I can form my own ;) Feel free to post images if you have something that's working good for you. Thanks, John
jbq
400UC has been a reliable solution for me. My Holga seems to expose between EV 13 and EV 14, so if you want to shoot ISO 100 slides in blight sunlight you'll probably need to use ND filters, though Velvia 50 might actually work. I'll have to try in mine when I'm done with the current roll.

Ian Taylor
<a href="http://www.photo.net/photo/2054178" target="_blank">Kodak 400VC</a> is the only thing that consistently works for me. YMMV.
wickedmartini
I use Fuji NPH. The speed gives me the versatility I need in a variety of situations. Have fun! Michael D. D'Avignon

nancy_bueler
Hi John. I've used the Holga for a few years now, and I'm convinced that the Holga does so much better with colour film. I use mostly Fuji, and in the pictures attached I used Fuji NPH 400. These were taken at night, and as you can see, the colour is very bright. I pressed the shutter about 20 or more times, which is what gives it that blurred effect. Nancy<div></div>

andrew_osterlund
I always shoot color chromes with my Holga (well, with anything), and velvia is the most fun. Make sure you have a lot of light. Just remember that the Holga is F8 or 11 for 1/100 of a second +/-. So, imagine if you had 100 ISO in your automatic camera - is the light right for F8 at 1/100? With chromes, you can't be off by much, lightwise, and you'll get darker vignetting. But, slow transparency film is my favorite - if you get the light right, the colors are very rich.<div></div>

stoopidgerl
my favorite color film for HOLGA is outdated Kodak Porta 400UC and also Fuji NHGII 800 speed.
neil_purling
What gives the best colour in speeds of 400 ASA and up? Then how would it react to a 2 stop over-exposure on a sunny day? I like good saturated colours. How do Fuji and Kodak compare to each other? I have got some rolls of Kodak Portra 160VC (Vivid Colour). This is surely no good for anything but a sunny day. I am not sure if you can get Kodak Portra 400 VC. I would expect it has been deleted long ago (if it ever existed). I like in the U.K. Who would you reccomend for processing and printing/scanning? Do they do cross-processing?
