prudence_huston
Hi! I've got a very early Argus 35mm, presumably a pocket camera at the time. It's got an id number, but no model marking. Anyone know how to identify it? I'd like to see if I can clean the lens up enough to take pictures with it. It's quite "smoked" up. I have not tried to restore one this old - I am guessing it is maybe as late as the 40's, more likely 30's. Any help greatly appreciated, on Arguses or on old lenses! Thanks! SCL
I Googled Argus C4 the other day out of boredom and several repair specialists popped up.
silent1
A picture would help a lot... If your Argus has a bakelite body, it might be one or another of the Argus A models, the cameras that really put 35 mm on the map for American amateurs. They're quite capable cameras, from my reading, and also pretty simple; it shouldn't be hard to find someone to repair one if needed.
larrydressler
Post a picture or a discription in the classic camera forum. I but it can be fixed easly sounds like fungus or just hazed glass. The Argus cameras were sometimes cheaply built but they always had great quality control. Larry<div></div>
