Photoshop CS tutorials

Recommended Posts

I'm UK based and have been using PhotoshopCS for about a year now

and feel I have mastered the basics. I'm slowly learning techniques

from various magazine and their free CDs but I'm keen to get a set

of CD rom or DVD tutorials to help me progress quicker.

I realise this is probably going to cost 150 - 200 pounds so want to

get the best around. Can anyone recommend anything?

thanks

Although I have not bought it yet... and can't give you any first hand knowledge all my research points to Total Training DVD's. Many people, here and in the PS forums recommended it. Both CS2 and CS is 299 USD but I'd bet there are CS DVD on the web that are cheaper than that because it is now outdated by CS2. Good Luck

I second that recommendation- Deke McClelland is an excellent tutor. You can probably pick

up the CS version of his Total Training DVDs cheaper on eBay. I also like Martin Evening's

books, which also come with QuickTime tutorials on a CD - although they are not very long.

Another option, for video-based training, is the training library at lynda.com, which has lots

of Photoshop tutorials. The one by Chris Orwig called "Enhancing Digital Photography with

Photoshop CS" is excellent. It is 13 hours long!

Hi Chris,

I could also recommend joining NAPP (USA based National Association of Potoshop Professionals). Cost is < $200 year. heck out http://www.photoshopuser.com

I am based in Ireand - and find their bi-monthly mag excellent - and you also get access to their web site - it holds lots of good information & tutorials.

I'd also second Martin Evening's books - and you could also look for Katrin Eisman (photo retouching) as well as Scott Kelby for some of teh more interesting CS techniques.

Regards,

Gearoid Lacey - Galway.

Scott Kelby is associated with photoshopvideos.com that produces a number of training videos. See their web site:

Unless you buy multiple videos, it won't cost as much as 150 pounds. Moreover, you can order some of those videos at a deeper discount from places such as bookpool.com:
