bojana_bosh
I can't decide between these 4 digital cameras. Nikon D70,Nikon D100,Canon350D and Canon 300D? I'm a student (2.year of photography), and I need a very good digital camera for my practice. Please tell me which one is the best for my needs? stwrtertbsratbs5
What are your needs? Robert
vasilis
All are nice. I would be between the nikon d70 and the canon 350d. But if you state your needs it would help. Do you have already nikon or canon lenses. Although the best thing would be to go to a shop and see them and maybe try them and also try the minolta 5d and the new pentax maybe etc.
jack paradise
My choice would be the Nikon D70. But then again I'd like the Canon 350D, but the Nikon D100 would have the better body of the four. Sorry, can't help you. You'll have to decide for yourself! alan_gage
Don't forget the Pentax IST DS and the Konica/Minolta line of DSLRs, which look very good too. I have a Pentax IST DS and it has a very good viewfinder (for a DSLR), I've heard the Konica does too. Forget about image quality when comparing these cameras. While there might be a difference it's likely so slight you'd never notice in real world use. Choose based on what gives you the features you want. Compatability with old manual focus lenses (very good and cheap), how good the viewfinder is (easier to manaul focus), do you need image stabilization (built into Konica), and just plain how it feels in your hands and how the controls are laid out, etc... BTW, we don't know what your needs are so don't take anyones advice about which one is better...no one knows. Alan
andrew robertson
Choose the system first, and the camera second. Use the camera comparing tool at dpreview.com, and read their reviews of each one of those cameras before you decide. You have to be prepared to educate yourself on this matter. athinkle
During your decision making process, make sure to get some "seat time" in with each camera. The ergonomics of these things really need to be experienced, in addition to whatever technical differences they have.
bojana_bosh
Well, thank you all for your advices. I need it for shooting outdoors mostly, and to be comfortable for caring around. I already have Canon G5 Powershot and it didn't work properly a lot of times, so I'm a little bit sceptic about Canon because of that. I saw both canon 350D and Nikon D70, and one of the things I don't like about Nikon is that it has Iso from 200, not less. I also compared these too on other things and now it's even more difficult to decide :( Nikon or Canon?
bengt_rehn
Well Bojana, There are so many parameters to evaluate and you need to tell more about about your photography and future plans in order to give you any useful advice. Why do you think the lack of ISO 100 for Nikon D70 is a major disadvantage?
