THANK YOU

Recommended Posts

Stephen you would be remiss if you had produced what Sam has and not notified us. We'd worry about you.

Thanks so much Sam. I've enjoyed your posts immensely. You've shown that those old lenses and shutters have a unique way of capturing the world, just as you have. Esp., that old Rolly-you made magic with it.

I wish we would all just ignore the negative postings above.

Sam -- Thank you for all your efforts in sharing your excellent work with the readers of the Classic Camera Forum. While some may not love your style, I thinks most readers found at least a little inspiration in your work. You remind my why I originally purchased all these cameras. You have taught me much about a different approach to photography. I look forward to your return and being able to enjoy more of your beautiful images. Thanks!

Sam,

I join the guys and gals that enjoy seeing what you have vacuumed up (in a nice sense of the word) from the vibrant life in America's No 1 big city. And that's life with a capital "L" as in LIU. Sam, you have given us a calvacade of thrills. You've broken no rules in my book, rather, you have fired up a great deal of enthusiasm for us to use and show work of our old cameras in many formats. Thanks for a great show. Just one question before I sign off, "How do you get those old cameras surgically removed from you?"

About that business of spending several months in an air-conditioned apartment. Hmmmmm I'm betting you'll get cabin fever within a week and I just wouldn't be surprised if your twin --and you said you have one in China-- just might be seen roaming the hot streets of NYC with a Seagull, or Rollei or Kinaflex. Hey! why not lend your twin a camera or two?

BTW there is a way of combining your city shots and stay in your apartment, too. Do what Andre Kertesz did in his old age-- take pictures from your window.

Stay cool!

Les

But it is time for me to take a break and enjoy the unphotogenic hot summer of New York City in my cool air-conditioned apartment.

I was there for a couple of weeks in summer decades ago, and found it photogenic enough. But maybe you're indoors using th' skills that pay th' bills. To a point, I'll agree with your sour detractors above: ten percent or so of your photos posted here leave me blank. But that's a low percentage. I've enjoyed the others and I look forward to your return.
