Frank,

You just missed one of Dagor77's auctions selling off a 260 Nikkor f10. I believe it sold for

a touch under US$275.00. IMHO, the winner scored a pretty good deal!

Dan,

WOW! That poor front standard!!! :)

I once saw a 1000mm lens mounted onto a Sinar (being sold on e**y) but it had a special

support built in under the lens. I can't recall the weight of that lens but it couldn't have

been much more than your beast! :)

What does your lens weigh?

Cheers

The lens will throw a circle a bit larger than 17" I found, the one that sold was the last

'boxed-as-new' I had, the others are just used. The F32 max is a pain but there are tech

guys out there who can adjust the iris so it'll close down more which may be someething

you can look into, either that or replace the iris yourself with one that gives a stop more to

your liking(Edmunds Scientific has a bunch).

John, H.C.,

That's a 2x3 Speed, not a 4x5. As I said, I don't take advantage of the lens' coverage. Don't worry about my camera's poor overloaded front standard. The lens' barrel is aluminum and its elements are thin. It looks much heavier than it really is.

Cheers,
